We are sooooo excited to have another little girl around here soon!
I have basically been baby hungry for well over a year, but we had some bumps to smooth over first... Like how my IUD got lost up in my uterus and it took months to find it and then surgically remove it. So annoying - I won't be getting one of those again! I've heard too many legit horror stories since, including one girl I know who got pregnant after her IUD broke in HALF and has to have surgery in her second trimester to find the second half floating around in her abdomen somewhere. Horrifying. It's hard to be a woman sometimes!!
When I found out just how long it would take to get this thing out of me, I started to cry. All the old feelings came rushing back - wanting and waiting for almost 2 years to get pregnant with Georgia. Georgia grabbed my face and dried my tears, saying "Momma, don't be sad. You have to be happy. Look! Like this, see!!" with a big smile on her face. I love her so much! I decided right then that this time would be different. I was going to be happy, I wasn't going to slip away into despair again - I have so much to be happy about, and hello - not being pregnant is so much FUN!! So we lived it up at the beach and Disneyland with our two awesome kids and waited patiently until it was time for another soul to join us.
Now that it's here, we just can't wait! Georgia knew from the very beginning (because she's oddly obsessed with pregnancy and pretending to have a baby in her tummy, heaven help me). She kept pointing to my stomach the week I found out and telling me "Mommy are you PRAGnant...... you ARE!!!" No matter how much I denied it, she just knew. Then she told me every day I had to have a GIRL baby (and name her Georgia). SO MUCH PRESSURE. I wanted it for her but I kept trying to prepare her. "What if it's a boy baby? Why don't you wan't a boy baby??"
"Because I just want cute bows and cute dresses." haha I totally agreed with her.
And we are so so happy it IS a baby girl!
So far Georgie has OK'd these names for her:
Georgia
Georgia Poppy (Zach says no Trolls names - boo)
Destiny (what the...)
Lyla
She cracks me up!
She has also thoroughly embarrassed me by pointing to a bigger lady at the store and shouting
"LOOK MOMMA, SHE HAS A BABY IN HER TUMMY LIKE YOUUUU!"
How do you even fix that..... I had no words.
But this has been my most favorite time for the two of us. She loves and adores this baby girl already and has been so sweet. Plus I am FINALLY her favorite parent (baby in the tummy trumps even the best dad) even if it's only for the next 5 months, I'll take it!!
We are so ready for this baby girl to join our family in the fall. Here are some of the sweetest moments between me and my Georgie Girl, and some pretty funny smiles from Boston.
This phase of life going to be the stuff of my dreams... I just know it!
